Doctor of Chiropractic

Bee Chiropractic was founded by Dr Bryonie or “Dr B” who graduated from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic and performed her animal studies through the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic (IAVC). Dr B became passionate about Chiropractic after her own personal experiences “changed her life”. Check out her story below:

When I was younger I suffered terribly with stomach issues and was later diagnosed with a condition called Crohn’s disease. Unfortunately, the disease was already very far progressed by that stage as my case was difficult to diagnose. I was treated by my doctor and a team of gastrointestinal specialists who gave me a variety of different oral medications and courses of steroids to try alleviate my symptoms but to no avail, and later resulted in me having surgery to remove part of my intestine as it was too badly damaged. Even after all this, I still had persistent symptoms and alongside my daily oral medication I was started on an Intravenous (IV) medication- the same medication used at the time to treat cancer patients- in which I had to attend regular hospital appointments for the infusions. However, none of these medications worked for me, and actually made me feel worse! When I first saw a Chiropractor, I had no real idea of what they did. However, after my initial assessment it was clear to me that Chiropractors had a different approach to healthcare and I liked the fact that my Chiropractor thought that he could help me, particularly with my daily headaches, neck and shoulder tension without me having to take yet more medication.  I started regular care and after the first few weeks my headaches had gone, my neck and shoulder tension had eased significantly, and I had more energy and improved sleep. When a job became available to work on the front desk in one of the Chiropractic clinics, I jumped at the chance as it allowed me to learn more about Chiropractic and get adjusted regularly by the Chiropractors I worked with. After a few months of regular Chiropractic adjustments, I noticed that my symptoms for Crohn’s disease had reduced so significantly that I was able to stop the IV medication and shortly thereafter I came off all oral medication too (and over 8years later I’m still meds free!!) For the first time in my life I felt full of energy and found myself able to go about my day to day life and make plans without concern for Crohn’s symptoms. It was at this point I realised for myself that there was much more to Chiropractic than just neck pain and headaches and that this care had an impact on the whole body.

It was seeing the positive impact of Chiropractic care on myself and others that led me to train for five years to become a qualified Doctor of Chiropractic. I am truly passionate about my job and in my belief that Chiropractic care has huge positive benefits allowing everyone to live their lives to the full. I now get to share the gift of chiropractic with my animal clients too, helping their bodies to function at their best!
